This works is named as the Program on study of traditions of the Jews in 5-11 grades of general secondary Jewish schools, although the work is not the Program from methodical point of view It rather presents a thematic plan of the lessons on the traditions in 5-11 grades of the above-mentioned schools In the work the writer had reflected her experience of teaching Jewish traditions The topics, proposed by the writer for study on the lessons of Jewish traditions, are laid out very thoroughly and resourcefully, but their capsule version and brisk narration do not produce entire imagination on content of the course. This material is intended for use by teachers in traditions and may be successfully used in their work under a creative approach.
This work is a collection of scenarios to conduct certain Jewish Holidays. The materials are a result of many years' experience of the writer in the field of teaching Jewish Traditions and are distinguished with original form and content. Participation of the children in such Holidays will promote their more active and conscious assimilation of training material, as well as will develop their creative capacities. The material presented may be recommended to conduct out-of-class events in day and holiday schools, in work of theatre and drama study groups.
(An Integrated Lesson of Hebrew Tradition)
The writer had produced an abstract of an integrated lesson on Hebrew-tradition in the 2nd grade. The lesson is built as a play-contest, in the course of which children generalise and systematise their knowledge on the meaning of Pesach Holiday, on the exodus of the Jews from Egypt, as well as fix the studied vocabulary on the topic. The writer successfully uses the principle of differentiated education - he divides the children into two groups-teams in accordance with their training and knowledge levels. This allows to activate cognitive activities and attention of each pupil and has favourable influence over development of a child's personality. The lesson is saturated with diverse and interesting tasks. Content of each task for each group of participants is elaborated well. The tasks develop cognitive interest in the filed of Jewish traditions, enrich word stock; they are conducive to development of thought and language of the pupils. The work may be recommended for teachers in junior classes, for teachers in Hebrew and traditions in Jewish schools.
This Project is an elaborated excursion-education Programme on Jewish Places of
Ukraine, consisting of three stages and covering historical regions of Ukraine that
were the places of compact residence of Ukrainian Jews (Volyn, Polesye, Galicia,
Bukovyna, Podolia) in the past.
The excursion programme is intended for the senior pupils in Jewish day schools.
Since the duration of any such excursion is 4-8 days, it is expedient to conduct
these in days of school vacation. The work promotes familiarisation of the pupils
with traditions, with the whole material culture and with spiritual heritage of
Ukrainian Jewry.
